The Mirror
The Mirror
Looking through the mirror, one who once was you,
At the speed of light, one suddenly became two,
Observer and observed within your extended mind,
Eyes linked, hearts unaware of what they would find,
A reflection of themselves in the soul’s mirror,
Drawn through a window becoming ever clearer.
Turn the mirror to its back the other self is lost,
So we surrender souls when life and death cross,
Hold the mirror to the lips, search for living breath,
Discover life’s lonely parade always ends in death.
Lift your eyes to the circling infinite beyond,
Look there for the one, your perfect spirit bond,
Darkness and light dissolve us all in the mirror true,
Those who emerge from its gloom or brilliance few,
Light is truth and truth is light in reflected waves,
Hold both close in your heart, do not fear to be brave,
Recognize yourself in the mirror’s radiant light,
As one who is loved even in the darkest night.
